Mumbai HO
ALL INDIA MEGA BLOOD DONATION DRIVE organized with the support of our Members and State Boards on 14th June 2011 - a huge success. Drive undertaken to mark ‘World Blood Donation Day’. Camps were also organized at a few venues in the following days. About 75 camps participated and over 6300 bottles of life-saving blood collected by the blood banks. An umbrella was provided to each donor as a token of gratitude sponsored by M/s J B Chemicals @& Pharmaceuticals and M/s Biochem Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. Mementoes were presented to M/s Neon Laboratories and M/s Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Ltd. for collecting the largest number of blood units at the Informal get-Together on 29th July 2011.

‘NO TOBACCO DAY’ held on 31st May 2011 – in support of Voice Against Tobacco, Lions Club International and Divya Bhaskar Group in their awareness campaign on the dangers of smoking/consuming tobacco - in continuation of the theme of our Golden Jubilee Year “Healthcare of People – Always in All Ways”.

4 MEDICAL & HEALTH CHECK UP CAMPS held on 7th April, 1st May and 22nd May – over 2000 needy people benefitted – free medicines supplied to all as contributed by Members.

SEMINAR ON PHARMACEUTICAL WATER SYSTEMS VALIDATION held on 4th March with over 180 participants.

PHARMATECHEXPO 2011 organised at Indore between 22-24 April – 123 stalls participated with 2000+ visitors – Seminar on Stability Study organized alongside with over 300 delegates.

SEMINAR ON WHY & HOW OF CURRENT HVAC VALIDATION held on 20th May – over 150 participants.

MICRO WEBSITE TO RECRUIT FRESH B PHARM /M PHARM STUDENTS has been set up for suitable employment by Members and industry. Over 800 brief profiles of students up for selection.

3 CME PROGRAMMES FOR DOCTORS provided support in March – 3 more scheduled to be held.

14th IDMA-APA Pharmaceutical Analysts Convention (PAC) 2011 held on 23rd-24th September 2011 at Hotel Intercontinental – The Lalit Mumbai. Theme this year is Entering the Golden Era – From Good to Great - Chief Guest Mr Ajit Singh, Chairman, ACG Worldwide. Presentations by US FDA, USP, European and Brazilian regulatory authorities. Visit to newly renovated Drug Control Laboratory of FDA, Maharashtra at Bandra, Mumbai.

SAVE THE GIRL CHILD CAMPAIGN – to Support and Eliminate gender bias against the girl child and to stop female foeticide in support of Government of Maharashtra project for educating concerned citizens of the same and also render proper health check ups and facilites for young mothers.

The Grand Finale: 50TH ANNUAL CELEBRATIONS on 6th and 7th January 2012 at Hotel Intercontinental The Lalit, Mumbai. National and International speakers are being invited to address Members over the 2 days. Presentations by National and International Speakers such as Mr Shiv Khera, Dr Naresh Trehan, Mr Martin Khor, Ms Rekha Shetty, Mr Sam Pitroda, Mr Rana Kapoor. Panel Discussion by eminent personalities and moderated by experts such as Mr Sudarshan Jain and Mr Utkarsh Palnitkar.

TRUCKLOADS OF MEDICINES worth Rs.1.50 crores flagged off on 27th August by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal for free distribution among poor and need in Himachal Pradesh.
